Dallin and his Dad had a great time building this pinewood derby car. Dallin designed the car. Dad cut it out on the jig saw. Dallin sanded and painted the car. Mom loaned us her cricket to make the decals. Grandad polished the nails and put on the wheels. A real joint effort! Dallin won his first race by three or four car lengths.

Unfortunately, the track had a drop at the end which damaged one of the axils and caused the wheel to rub against the fender. The car never recovered and lost the remaining races. Dad should have provided for greater clearance in the wheel wells when he cut it out. Dallin, however, had a great time and was awarded best workmanship.

Congratulations Dallin!
